Thirteen years on the mountain.
It only gets better.
Yoga on the Mountain is a four-day yoga festival held each October at Mount Magazine State Park in the Arkansas Ozarks. More than 50 classes, live music, hiking, good food, and the kind of community that keeps people coming back year after year.
This is what a yoga festival should feel like.
Yoga on the Mountain started in 2014 because Arkansas's yoga community deserved a place to come together. Thirteen years later, it's still the same thing: great teachers, full classes, late nights around the fire, and mornings that make you glad you came.
Mount Magazine sits at 2,753 feet. The air is different up there. So is the feeling of doing yoga next to strangers who become friends by Sunday.
Beginner or advanced, first time or fifth, you will fit in here.
Beginners welcome. Experienced practitioners at home.
YOTM has always been designed for both. The schedule runs from gentle and accessible to advanced and physically demanding, so you build your own weekend based on where you are right now, not where you think you should be.
Four days. More than you expect.
Every YOTM schedule is built to give you options at every hour — from early morning movement to late-night music. Here's a look at what fills the weekend:
50+ Classes
Yoga, Pilates, barre, yin, somatic movement, breathwork, and more. Every level, every style, every day.
Hiking & Foraging
Mount Magazine's trails are part of the experience. Guided hikes and foraging walks take you into the Ozarks properly.
Vendors & Makers
Local and regional vendors bringing wellness products, handmade goods, and things you'll actually want to bring home.
Meditations & Talks
Guided meditations, wellness conversations, and sessions that go beyond the mat into how you actually live.
Live Music & Social Events
The evenings are their own thing. Music, gatherings, good company
Sound Bath & Yin
For when you need to slow down inside of a busy weekend. These sessions tend to be people's favorites.
"Such a magical experience for nourishing yourself and making connections."
Mount Magazine. 2,753 feet. Arkansas's highest point.
Mount Magazine State Park sits on a flat-topped mountain in the Ozark National Forest, about two hours from Little Rock and three from Fayetteville. The park has a lodge, cabins, and some of the most dramatic views in the state.
October is the right time to be there. The air is cool, the leaves are turning, and the light in the morning is something you don't forget. It's not accidental that YOTM has always been held here. The place is part of what makes it work.
Built in Arkansas. Carried forward with intention.
L; Mary Fennel & R; Krista DeBuhr
Yoga on the Mountain was founded in 2014 by Krista DeBuhr and Mary Fennel, who believed Arkansas' yoga community deserved a place to come together. And now, YOTM is the premier yoga event in the state.
Holly Krepps, co-founder of Circle Yoga Shala, is the new steward of YOTM. With thirty years of yoga teaching behind her, Holly knows what makes a festival worth coming back to. Good teachers. Real practice. A room where everyone belongs on the mat.
